7:00pm Shire Moot and Presentation of Defenders (The Lodge) Sunday 12noon Site closes -- Please take your trash with you! Additional Event Information -- Fire rules will depend on the level set by Parks Dept on the event weekend. As of June 4, there were no special warnings, but make sure to check at the front park gate (as opposed to SCA sign-in) for the announcement board they have attached to the fence. There are fire rings near each of the adirondacks and near other camping spaces, but the site is very natural and wooded so keep fire (as usual) 12"+ off the ground if your fire is not in one of those firepits, and of course, keep away from trees, vegetation, and tents. Please do not move firerings per the Parks Dept. -- Parking. If it continues to rain in the next couple of weeks the site will get soggy. The Event Staff doesn't anticipate it will affect the parking areas as much as it might chew up the roads to the outer camping areas, so with that in mind, PLEASE come prepared to pack in from a central drop-off area. The entire camp is fairly compact (compared to some events) but if this would be a hardship (as it would be for me) please contact the Event Steward and she'll reserve space and/or make arrangements to get you some help. Let's think about these things now instead of 2am on saturday morn of the event. -- Quiet hours are from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. -- The adirondack camping areas are "first come" though we might do some reserving of areas for Event Staff who won't get a chance to take friday afternoon to set up, so please be respectful of any signage you encounter. The Event Staff will also mark off roadways where vehicles shouldn't go. -- The Event Staff recommends setting up tents around the perimeter of the adirondack areas as the adirondacks sections all are designed with a road that dumps out in a loop around the center shelter of each area. These open areas around the shelters are the only roadways in/out of the shelter areas, so we don't recommend plunking a tent down there (you might get run over in the middle of the night). This is also another reason to consider packing in from the main road to one of the adirondack areas. -- Please watch your children, there's lots of wilderness. Please watch yourself, there's lots of wilderness. ;-) [There aren't as many paths between camping areas as there might appear and the ground can get really bumpy, at night we recommend sticking to grass or paths.] -- Quiet hours are from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. -- There are no electrical hookups for RVs on site. There are no electrical hookups for merchants on site. There are no electrical hookups for cooking in the lodge (at least that I know of), so bring your campstoves to the soup potluck. Thanks. -- Water is potable on site but there's only a few spigots and the County liaison says it doesn't taste very good. You might bring your own. -- Pets are welcome in the park but must be kept on a leash, under owner's control, and cleaned up after. Thanks. -- No smoking INSIDE buildings (Lodge, Schoolhouse, etc.) per the Parks Dept. Please smoke in your own encampment and clean up your butts. Thanks. -- Quiet hours are from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. -- Please come prepared to pack out your trash. We'll also be handing out trashbags at gate.
