Dragon In Any Medium Contest Information

Dragon in Any Medium is the traditional just-for-fun contest at DMDT. There will be two prizes, one for the judges' choice, and one for populace favorite. Entries need not be period or in a period style. Documentation is not allowed, unless your "mockumentation" is a major part of your entry. Entries must be made or embellished with dragon(s) by you, must not have won a serious SCA contest, and may be anything that represents or involves dragon(s). In the past we've had stories, edibles, stuffed toys, embroidered panels, mosaics, dragons painted on purchased tiles or dish-ware, and many other things -- some of them involving truly horrendous puns! Be inspired!

If you are making an oral presentation, I strongly suggest you print off a copy so that the populace may have some chance of including it when they vote for their favorite article. You will need to be in the DiAM area to present said entry to judges, after judging is finished for the Arts & Sciences championship.

We'll have better details about timing later, possibly not until the day of the contest. Keep in touch, and keep an ear out for the herald! [Event Steward note: as of 06/12/2007: 11:00am Dragon in Any Medium drop off/display set up (see Signora Francesca at The Lodge), pickup items after the A&S judging and before the moot. Thanks!]

Wishing all of us much fun!

Bardic Contest!

Saturday evening at Dragon's Mist Defenders Tourney, we will be holding an 'old style' Bardic Circle (with a fire, sing-a-longs and everything!). In order to inspire participation in this 'splendid event', we will be awarding several prizes including:

1) A silver harp pendant for best 'amateur' (no previous contest wins) performance

2) An embossed leather song book binder created especially for this contest by Baron Titus for the best overall performance of the night

3) "Chocolate coinage" and other prizes will be awarded to those who participate

The contest will be open to all tellers of tales and singers of songs and the entries need not be period (SCA filk is acceptable).

So come join us for a glorious evening of howling at the moon and singing to the stars. We look forward to hearing your voices lifted in song and story.

**Since there are prizes for both 'Best Amateur' & 'Best Overall, this means a very talented amateur _could_ win both!
